New Jersey Giants

Born a Johnson, the most common name in the English language, I always wished for a connection to the Johnson and Johnson people. I found this connection in New Jersey. No, I am not related, nor do I get any funds. However, I can be proud of the family’s philanthropic achievements as well as the great talent of John Seward Johnson the second. 

Grounds for sculpture, founded by America’s renowned sculptor Seward Johnson, is a showcase of sculptures by diverse sculptors in a beautiful outdoor setting, with an emphasis on the garden design as well as the art. Every little niche, or turn of the corner, leads you to an original sculpture. Although the works of Seward Johnson are prevalent, they are not dominant. The variability and originality of the sculptures and the natural beauty of the gardens lead the viewer to places of peace and serenity, followed by a bend in the road that provokes thought and challenges perception.

If I lived locally I would have a membership, because every season gives a different perspective on the outdoor art. There is also an excellent restaurant on site, Rat’s restaurant, that not only offers exceptional food, but is situated amidst water and art features.
