Farm to Table in Montgomery Alabama

Farm to Table in Montgomery Alabama

Central, a farm to table restaurant in Montgomery Alabama, just happens to be right next door to the Legacy Museum, and around the corner from the Rosa Parks museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. Location, Location, Location. The restaurant has been open before the opening of the Legacy Museum and the memorial, but these new openings give you an even better reason to stop by.

The ambience is rustically elegant with a great use of wood, leather booths, low lighting, and an open kitchen. The menu is classic southern, with their own twist. We started with an order of their flat bread with aged pimento cheddar cheese. The flat bread was more like large fried chips. The pimento cheddar cheese was spicy and delicious. Chris had the catfish tacos with black beans and avocado. I ordered the chicken and dumplings. Now, it was delicious. But, was it chicken and dumplings? Who am I to say? The plate consisted of three perfectly baked flaky biscuits topped with what I would describe as a homemade cream of chicken, cream of mushroom soup with a strong flavor of fresh thyme and lots and lots of cream. I licked my plate. Once again, trying to order healthy and given hardening of the arteries :) We couldn’t possibly have room for dessert, but boy would I have liked to try the bacon glazed maple beignets....
