A long, lonesome highway
Gluten free may just mean the end of the lifestyle of the West. Driving from California through Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana reveal multi generations of wheat farmers. Large swaths of land are dedicated to producing grain to see the needs of humans and animals. There is an amazing sense of solitude and peace as you traverse these planted acres. There are already signs of abandoned silos and farms, with unique hints of life gone by. A lonely drive in, an abandoned church, homes that have been empty for who knows how long. Lonely, abandoned, nostalgic, romantic. No matter how they touch you, they do touch you.
