Your dollar really stretches in Bend!

Local? Farm to table? Cozy? Where everybody could know your name if you weren’t just passing through? Drake, in Bend Oregon, is a lovely respite if you are not eating at the campsite. Local brews and wine are on the menu, as well as an array of salads, fish, meat, all tossed creatively in a casual yet elegant style. The heirloom tomato shrimp Louie, seasonal, was an amazing dish, as well as the special which had cajun shrimp and a hopping’ john salad. Our guest, and local guide, swears it has the best salted caramel milk shake in the universe, and I am still stunned by the 5 dollar price tag. Toto, we aren’t in California anymore.
