Roberts Resorts Oak Forest, Austin TX
The RV park in Austin had all the amenities you could hope for: a swimming pool and jacuzzi, a clean and efficient laundry room that took credit or debit cards, and a covered area with an outdoor kitchen.
The unique part of the park was its development as a Tiny home community. There were model tiny homes to visit and purchase, as well as a tiny hotel on the property. I still ask the question: What is the difference between a tiny house and a mobile home? The tiny houses were brought in on wheels, and then put on a foundation. Apparently there is quite a bit of political controversy surrounding this same question. Homeless advocates have urged approval of tiny homes still on wheels, given how expensive it is to put them on foundations. Most communities are still resisting, although just recently the county of San Luis Obispo, CA approved tiny homes in city limits, provided they are on trailers and registered with the department of motor vehicles.
