Hi.

Welcome to our blog. We are documenting our midlife adventure across the USA on the road. Please join us and follow along. We would love to hear from you!

So far on our journey we have stayed at four RV parks. There have been some common or typical aspects, yet each one has had its idiosyncrasies. We have rarely made it to a campsite in time to check in at the office, although that is definitely a goal. We have used the after hours process more or less successfully. Some camps have been highly organized, while others have had no information and we have just set up camp and paid the next day. RV people are mostly friendly, and always willing to share a tidbit of info or lend a helping hand. A few things we learned the hard way is not to trust the park’s ratings, and to minimize reservations when possible.

A river may run through it in Montana, and the website says a creek runs through our campsite…Fake news? Not exactly. A creek does run through it, but it is about a foot wide. Dr. Picasso enjoyed checking it out though!

RV hacks: Velcro the espresso pot to the counter, and attach a magnetic strip to the wall with chef knives. Oh! And a life saver: refrigerator bars that keep your food and drinks in the fridge when you open the door.

This campground did have an added feature, mentioned in the title. The hot springs were lovely, perfect temperature, relaxing, and included in our campsite fee.

All in all, we are getting the hang of this RV journey, and so far we can definitely say that life is indeed better on the road.
