Yellowstone National Park: Bucket list!
We entered the park at the West entrance and were immediately awestruck by the beauty of the park. We were also dumbfounded at the apparent stupidity of most human park visitors. Huge traffic jams because people see an animal and must stop in the middle of the road to photograph it. The park rules are very clear, but of course, they don’t apply to us, oh no. Let’s delay traffic for 30 minutes to get a picture of the bison crossing the road. If that isn’t enough, let’s completely invade their space to get a picture of us with them. Where is Darwin when you need him?
Other than that, what a gorgeous day. Picture perfect weather, a herd of elk grazing, bison doing their thing, birds and fish, and geysers galore. Rivers and lakes around every turn, and the karma of arriving at Old Faithful just in time for a beautiful eruption.
The RV was an added plus. Who doesn’t love to sit in front of a flowing river watching the birds and eating a homemade lunch?
To top off the day we checked in to Yellowstone Valley Inn and RV Park. Set up, and headed to the restaurant for some Wyoming beef, potatoes, salad and local beer.
